UNIQUE WEDDING CAKES THAT ARE ANYTHING BUT ORDINARY

7 Unique Wedding Cakes that are Anything But Ordinary

If you’re not sure about a ‘traditional’ Wedding Cake, consider these incredible and extraordinary choices, and if your mouth is still watering after these, head to alternative wedding cake flavours you haven’t thought of.

1. Say Cheese!

Personally I would eat cheese over cake any day so the thought of this layered cheese cake makes my mouth water like crazy (& the edam in the fridge just aint gonna cut it) Add layers of different types of cheese so that everyone finds a little something they like. My pick of the bunch would be Kiwi companies Whitestone Cheese + Talbot Forest Cheese.

2. The coolest cake in town

Double up on dessert and cake with a little artisan icecream. Making them is much easier than you think courtesy of my bestie Martha Stewart and it gives you one less thing to worry about on the day (if you haven’t already eaten them by then!) Yummo.

3. Mini Deserts

The perfect solution for fussy guests these little cakes are the perfect petite dessert and look fantastic. Just beware of the drunken guest who thinks the shot glass cake tower is a game of Jenga!

4. Dark and Gooey

While I respect that a fruit cake with white icing really is the traditional cake of the wedding world, I could guarantee your guests wouldn’t complain if you rocked something dark and gooey. Chocolate and caramel are the perfect pair and propped up on a fancy pants stand, this cake below certainly gets the thumbs up from me!

5. A Slice of Pie

There is something romantic about a freshly baked pie and this alternative wedding cake idea with different sizes and flavours of fruit pie, is perfect for an intimate wedding (and oh so affordable) Team it up with the icecream cake for the perfect summer dessert!

6. Croquembouche (what?)

Until I witnessed some serious cake making disasters on Master Chef, I had no idea this dessert even existed. Made of profiteroles all stuck together with a crazy ass sugar glazing thingie (ok so I am no chef) this dessert looks so ridiculously tasty I am actually craving it for breakfast. My advice? Leave it to the experts!

7. Dunkin (+ possibly drunkin) Doughnuts

You dough-nut have to be a cop to enjoy this sweet treat! These babies are looking more elegant than ever, and your guests will love you for it!
